CHIORINO runs intense and sophisticated Research and Development programs into thermoplastic polyurethanes and elastomer blends.
The CHIORINO R&D labs are equipped with state of the art, constantly evolving scientific instruments for the rheological, chemical and physical-mechanical analysis of polymeric materials.
Tests are carried out to determine material behaviour and develop methods capable of simulating the working conditions the products are subjected to.

Every year, the CHIORINO laboratories develop over 100 new products for practically every commercial and industrial sector. New product development also includes the realisation of prototypes on pre-industrialisation production systems.

Acute attention to quality control has become an essential part of the CHIORINO philosophy.
To guarantee continual product improvement, the tests that CHIORINO carries out on its raw and semi-finished materials include:
- infrared analysis (IR)
- molecular weight determination (GPC)
- viscosity measurement (Mooney)

In recent years, CHIORINO has been dedicated to studying new potential applications. With its deep-reaching knowledge of the behaviour of polyurethanes and elastomers, and with the perfection of several new production processes, CHIORINO has created a new division specialising in FILM and CALANDERED FABRICS to produce articles for application, as semi-finished products, in the widest ranges of sectors.
